Liberal Arts gives the students the flexibility to design their own degree. Liberal arts is a relatively new system of education in the country hence there are only few eminent liberal arts universities in India.
Liberal education system provides its students a degree in subject combinations of student’s choice.Liberal Arts is an education system that gives its students the prospect to study various combinations of subjects related to humanities, sciences, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, etc. Students can choose a subject for minor and a completely different subject for specialization. They can combine humanitarian subject with sciences or with mathematics. These courses encourage the overall development of the students. 
Some of the Renowned Liberal Arts Universities in India 
India is home to some globally renowned Liberal Arts Universities. Here are brief details about some of them:
Ashoka University: Located in Sonepat, Haryana, Asoka University is an eminent Liberal Arts university in India. It offers integrated courses such as Bachelors in Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, etc
Courses Offered: The University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 
In the undergraduate program the students are asked to choose one major and one minor specialization subject in their second year. They can select the major from Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, History, Economics and Finance, International Relations, etc. While the minor courses offered are Performing Arts, Creative Writing, Media Studies, etc.
During the Post-Graduation the university offers “The Young India Fellowship” (YIF). It is a one-year multidisciplinary postgraduate diploma programme in Liberal Studies. Courses in Master’s of Economics and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies are also offered.

Courses Offered: The University offers a 4 years undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts.
If the student chooses their major in Economics, Business Studies, Media Studies, Sociology, English, Psychology or Political Science & Public Policy, etc., they are granted Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Arts). And, if they major in Biology, Mathematics & Statistics or Computer Science, etc. they are granted Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts) degree.

Admission Process
Most of these require their candidates to submit an application form along with their details of academic performance in class 9th to 12th. The selected candidates then appear in that college’s Entrance Test. These tests evaluatethe candidate’s on their Verbal Ability, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Ability and General Knowledge. The passed candidates will then appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
